Top of the Charts number one song in America, Katy Perry's no stranger to getting attention sometimes in all the wrong ways. Earlier this year her American Music Awards performance grabbed the headlines over her 'Geisha' themed performance sparking controversy and a debate on what is deemed offensive. While some thought her performance was offensive and demeaning to women, others thought it was insulting to the Japanese culture. Well surprise she's at it again! With her recent release with her hit song entitled 'Dark Horse' music video delivers a hit below the belt as Muslims are out raged at a scene in the video where one of the men are wearing a necklace with an 'Allah' pendant just before he is zapped by lighting from a sphinx statue and is turned into sand.
It didn't take long for this controversy to go viral over the internet about this split second scene. Katy Perry herself released a statement saying," "just trying to give a beautiful performance about a place I have so much love for … with no other thought besides it."
I believe this sudden controversy with Muslims is indeed valid, but is a very superficial look at the video itself. When I watched the video, a much deeper darker message is actually revealed. This should offend everyone, Christians, Muslims, Hindi's, Buddhists, Jewish, all mainstream world religions.
Starting at the beginning of the video, it says printed on the screen, "A Crazy long time ago in Memphis Egypt." Memphis Egypt is actually a real place about 12 miles south of Cairo which is home to the famous Pyramids of Giza. In Memphis there are many ancient relics and monoliths such as the trio of colossi Rameses II, Ruins of the palace of Apries, pylon of the temple of Ptah, the step pyramid as many others litter the area as an ancient necropolis once called the "City of a Million Years" by Amun who beloved the city. Idol statues of a bull is found throughout the ancient ruins as well as worship of the god Nefertem who is portrayed as a beautiful man then later as a woman said to rise from the primal ocean and bloom the lotus flower.Some researchers claim that Nefertem is actually a later version of Ba'al or some believe Satan. Just as the Statue of Liberty that graces the New York Harbor is actually the Idol Isis, the mother of Horus. I believe Katy is portrayed as this goddess in the video, beautiful as a lotus, yet revealed in the video is actually a 'beast' that rises from the ocean. A boat is shown rowing across the waters, with a quick search on the internet anyone can see that the boat crossing the waters is symbolic for the 12th planet, the planet of crossings from Earth to the afterlife or where it was believed that the 'Gods' reside.
Katy Perry's makeup, especially her eyes shows the right eye as Horus the sun god and the left eye as the god Set. She also holds up a 'Eye of Horus' to her face, some believing a portrayal of the third eye or pennial glad located in the center of the brain thought to house the human soul. Clearly she's depicting the knowledge of the functions of the brain also referencing the right side of the brain as 'Gold or Golden' and the left side as 'Silver'. This is also associated with Horus and Set and the 'crossing' to the afterlife. Sun is gold, Moon is silver. Just as the keys Jesus gave to Peter, one silver one gold.
There is a scene briefly where she is naked in a moving statue on a wall with her body entangled in a golden snake with a eagle, wolf, and other anthropomorphic 'beings'. Katy is now portraying humanity with a serpent a direct reference to Eve falling victim to the serpent Satan in Genesis. Basically a depiction of Man's ability to Sin. Notice the wolf's head that moves toward her to bite her theigh, just another acknowledgement Satan's hold on man is strong. There is strong reference to transhumanism in this scene. The half animal half human statues are nothing new, they were gods of ancient Egypt and date as far back to Summarian times thought to be referenced as the 'Fallen Ones' in the Bible, the nephilim. Popularized in the later half of the 20th century by authors such as Zacarias Sitchin and Erich Von Daniken as possible 'Ancient Alien' masters that once enslaved the human race to mine for gold. Eigther way you slice it, this scene clearly shows mankind embracing evil.
The servants in the video with 'White Cat' heads are just an acknowledgement of 'Kitten Programming' used by various artists like Miley Cyrus. Aimed at targeting young girls and exposing them to inappropriate behavior. Nothing new really, just the industries newest way of making money by contaminating youthful minds. The men painted blue are a blasphemous reference mocking Hinduism's Savior Krishna. Trotting his image around as a slave.
We see troves of men parading up to Katy's personification of the God Nefertem, offering her gifts like Twinkies and Flaming hot Cheetos. Both in recent pop culture are described as 'Golden Foods' referencing their 'golden' appearance and their yummy taste. In ancient Egypt not only did the Egyptians revere gold as 'Godly' and wore it as fashionably jewelry, they also injested small amounts of gold to supposedly cleanse the body and bring them closer to the 'Gods'. I assume most people watching this scene in the video think this is funny or 'cool' as Twinkies and Cheetos are popular snacks, yet little do they know they are actually watching a blasphemous mocking of taking Holy Communion, the taking of the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ in Christianity. She eats a hot Cheetos then drinks from a challis. Two blasphemies in one! Then she kills everyone.
Taking these thoughts into consideration her message in the song is clear. The lyrics basically state that you better worship me, or you will feel my wrath, there is no turning back. They all dance around while Juicy J raps about banging chicks and getting rich. Nothing new here. Katy then climbs a pyramid and assumes the apex or the summit of the pyramid. The Pyramids of Giza are missing their apexes thought to be taken by thieves at some time. Many scholars believe they once had crystal or golden apexes to harness powers from the gods or the Earths energy fields. Her assuming this position on the pyramids is a reference that the deity she is portraying is indeed powerful while she summons the 'Perfect Storm'. Is this a message to us that something big is about to happen? Maybe a prophetic message that WWIII is about to begin, or that the antichrist is about to return. Whatever you think it is, one thing is clear to me, its a threat against humanity if you disobey her. Then the pyramid lifts off to reveal its a high tech spaceship again, thought by ancient alien theorists.
Where does the title 'Dark Horse' fit in. Clearly that title does not fit in with the Egyptian theme. Dark horse is a reference to the coming Appocalypse, the four horsemen. Dark Horse is also the polar opposite of the 'White Horse' which is associated with an End Times Savior. in my opinion, Katy Perry is not here to help humanity. Only to hurt and threaten us if we don't fully give ourselves to the Sins of Man. This is insulting to ALL World Religions as they do have one thing in common, that we should try to be good to our neighbors and not create sin. All major world religions promote this with the exception of the spin off branch of extreme radical Islam. Katy states recently that she loves the Egyptian ancient culture but does she really understand what she is implying in this video and song? Is she simply innocent and just thinks that pyramids look cool and she likes the cool jewelry, makeup and the color pink. Is this really a message from her handlers? Some one involved understands what this video implies and was set purposely to make a statement. From that, there is no turning back!
In recent weeks the US has agreed to lift current sanctions on Iran temporarly in exchange for their word in agreement to hault their Uranium enrichment program and disassemble some centrifuges needed to make a nuclear weapon.
Their diplomatic response was in agreement but their actions showed a disgruntled country eager to showcase video simulations of Iran attacking US targets as well as Israeli cities and bases. Flaunting their power, they have moved warships out into the Atlantic for the first time in recent history. They claim they are inbound for the East Coast United States.
Now after a robust move by Russia to try and persuade the Ukraine from joining the EU, they have moved 'Battle Ready' troops closer to the Ukrainian border. In response to Sec. John Kerry warning the Russians to "Be Careful". Now it seems Vladimir Putin has answered Kerry's call with moving a Spy Ship to Havana Cuba, without prior notice. This coincides with Communist Cuba's closest ally Venezuela recently kicking out of country 3 US diplomats accused of plotting to over through their president.

A bold move by Vladimir Putin as Russia moves 150,000 troops closer to Ukraine's border and sending warships to the Crimea coast of Ukraine. Russia claims they are just doing a training exercise. After the big push of the Ukraine to join back with Russia after Ukraine's recently corrupt president was ousted and accepted a bailout package of at least $20 billion to not join the EU. The Russian troop movement doesn't look very innocent at all.
With Ukraine's protesters last week successfully ousting their corrupt president, they celebrate and seem to move one step closer to the path of freedom. Now after that horrific wave of violence condemned by most of the world, it looks as if Ukraine's just hit the tip of the iceberg.
Everyone is watching what will happen next on the world's stage as small protest groups march in the United States outraged by President Obama's silence on this issue, and for that fact many foreign issues happening now. Secretary of State John Kerry commented earlier today saying that he is warning Russia to be very careful, whatever that means. In recent years the Obama Adminstration has focused hard on bringing about 'change' to the United States domestically. Little effort has been made on foreign affairs as terrorism is breeding anti-Americanism through out the middle east. President Obama's strategy for dealing with the world abroad has been defined as a 'lead from behind' strategy. Problem is this tends to open up a position in the front, and we are seeing a current scramble of countries just eager to step in and seize the moment.
With President Obama's silence and inaction with world dealings, this raises a troubling position. As we saw with last years Syria's chemical disaster, the United States was tight lipped on the whole situation. If you recall at the time of the Syrian chemical attack, President Obama was touring the Nation speaking publicly about push the Affordable Care Act, basically a 'traveling salesmen' on the tax payers dime to fund his personal agenda. As countries stamped their feet mad at the Obama's Adminstration for lack of leadership on the tragedy of the Syrian civilians amidst their illegal civil war. Then we witnessed Obama fly off the handle and started talking of missile strikes on the region, a 'shot across the bow'. A little too late. It seems this current administration is more like an amateur hour with their foreign dealings. This one situation out of many demonstrates how the current US Administation has either the lack of experience, knowledge, or care for that matter. This should have you worried.
The current upheaval happening across the world, there are current protests and wars popping up all over the globe. The 'Bear of the North' see's that the 'Eagle' is lame, and is raising to action. This is now a perfect recipe for World War III. If you give an inch, they take a mile sounds like lessons taught in grade school but it seems to baffle our current leaders in office. I am not claiming that we should take action against Russia, but I do know that this situation is not being handled correctly as I've watched past US Presidents reactions an decisions on similar situations all the way back to the Regan Adminstration. Today with the current headlines taking about Russian Troops moving to Ukraine border, I hear Obama on TV blabbing about a new transportation act costing US Taxpayers billions more dollars that we don't have. We only hear John Kerry's voice on any foreign issues, maybe John Kerry would make a better President, now that's pretty sad.
Should America be the World's Police? No, but when you have been slated for that job since World War II, it's not an easy task just to walk away from. There is no doubt that the rest of the world sees us as such, that's why some love us but even more hate us. We saw this demonstrated with the Syrian Chemical Crisis back in September of 2013. Everyone was looking to us for an answer or for a response for that matter. Just like children testing their parents to see what they can get away with, we see this today on the World's Stage. The big chill that draped the United States last month is back again, one more time! This time it won't be as bad according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service says some places from the central U.S. to the Ohio and Mississippi Valleys could be having some frosty high temperatures, as low 20 to 30 degrees below normal.
The Polar Vortex usually stays anchored to the Baffin Bay area north of Canada, when it weakens it causes cold arctic air to spill over onto Canada and the United States giving us the frigid cold we've been experiencing.
Temperatures will drop Tuesday to 10 to 30 degrees below normal for this time of year in places such as Minnesota and the Dakotas. Then the arctic blast will roll east.
By the middle of the week, the freeze zone will sweep the Midwest and the East Coast, plunging lows into the single digits in Indiana and Massachusetts, among other states.
Meanwhile, along the Gulf Coast, a warm front will increase shower and thunderstorm activity in that region and the Southeastern states Tuesday and into Wednesday.
Though this current run in with the arctic blast won't drive temperatures as deep and won't last as long, I know many of people out there are not looking forward to its return.
In the ancient past, mankind has looked to Comets as an omen, sign, messenger or harbinger.
In 2014, we are still looking to the heavens for scientific discovery and knowledge. This year we will be graced with five passing comets giving Earthlings a reason to look up once again.
Comet Holmes, official designation: 17P/Holmes is a periodic comet in the Solar System, discovered by the British amateur astronomer Edwin Holmes on November 6, 1892. Although normally a very faint object, Holmes became notable during its October 2007 return when it temporarily brightened by a factor of about half a million, in what was the largest known outburst by a comet, and became visible to the naked eye. It also briefly became the largest object in the solar system, as its coma expanded to a diameter greater than that of the Sun.
Comet Holmes is expected to grace Earth with its pressence again making perihelion this March 27, 2014.
4P/Faye also known as Faye's Comet or Comet Faye is a periodic Jupiter-family comet discovered in November 1843 by Hervé Faye at the Royal Observatory in Paris. It will next come to perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) on May 29, 2014, when it is expected to reach about apparent magnitude 12.5.
The comet is estimated at about 3.5 km in diameter.
209P/LINEAR is a periodic comet discovered on February 3, 2004 by Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) using a 1.0-metre reflector. It was given the permanent number 209P on December 12, 2008.
Preliminary results by Esko Lyytinen and Peter Jenniskens predict 209P/LINEAR may cause the next big meteor shower which would come from the constellation Camelopardalis during May 2014. There may be 100 to 400 meteors per hour.All the trails from the comet from 1803 through 1924 may intersect Earths orbit during May 2014.
209P/LINEAR next comes to perihelion, closest approach to the Sun on May 6, 2014. On May 29, 2014, the comet will pass 0.0554 AU, 5,150,000 miles from the Earth,but is only expected to brighten to about apparent magnitude 11.
The fragmentation of Comet Brooks 2 is believed to have been caused by a close pass to Jupiter in 1886, when it passed .001 AU from Jupiter. The gravity of the planet tore the comet into fragments. The fragmented comet was observed for the first time, in recorded history, three years later on July 7, 1889.
Comet Brooks 2 is expected to make perihellion this June 7th 2014.
C/2013 A1 (Siding Spring) is an Oort cloud comet discovered on 3 January 2013 by Robert H. McNaught at Siding Spring Observatory using the 0.5-meter Uppsala Southern Schmidt Telescope. At the time of discovery it was 7.2 AU from the Sun and located in the constellation Lepus. Comet C/2013 A1 probably took millions of years to come from the Oort cloud. After leaving the planetary region of the Solar System, the post-perihelion orbital period is estimated to be roughly 1 million years. Precovery images by the Catalina Sky Survey from 8 December 2012 were quickly found. On 3 March 2013, Pan-STARRS precovery images from 4 October 2012 were announced that extended the observation arc to 148 days.
Comet Siding Spring will pass extremely close to Mars on 19 October 2014 at 11:30 a.m. PDT (18:30 UTC), so close that the coma may envelop Mars.
In recent days to many it seems clear, with upheaval in Kiev Ukraine of recent days shocks the world at the scale of violence and resistance to join back with Russia and the communist regime, Russia is trying to rebuild old Soviet Union. Since the fall of the USSR back in the early 90's the break away countries left by Russia have been struggling to become a part of the West with freedom and liberty hanging in the balance. Its been a tough long ride for the people as Russia dangles exports to the region over their heads such as electricity and fuels much needed to jump start a struggling country trying hard to be like America.
Since the Cold War era ended, with Regan's policies helping to finally end a stint of communism plaguing much of the old world, it seems as though 25 years of progress have been unraveling under the current administration of the US. The Obama Administration have not taken enough action or by that matter said much of anything at all, letting the world slowly fall apart at the seams. While Obama is strictly focusing on domestic matters, making Americans lives a lot tougher. Its almost if Obama is operating with blinders on, or like a maid who obsesses over vacuuming one area of a rug while the rest of the house is on fire.
Vladimir Putin recognizes this failing with in the US Administration and is seizing the moment to push and see what he can get away with. Who can blame him? This is the first time since the Carter Administration in the 70's that the most dominant country in the world who stands for freedom and enterprise is weakened by its own policies and clearly shows signs of incapability of what to do on the world's stage. This is what happens when you put an ex-community organizer up against an ex-KGB member.
You can clearly see with the recent gift to the Ukraine of $15 billion to the leaders to not join the EU, of what exactly is transpiring. If Russia can regain Ukraine, it won't be long before the rest of the break-a-ways to sign right up and remake a new Soviet Union. I expect if this happens, soon we will see the EU break apart as many European countries are unhappy with the EU's rules and regulations and have been for sometime. With the financial collapse of Greece, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal it will be hard for the leading countries in the EU to have reason to hold together. Germany has recently expressed this concern.
In 2016, the world will be rewinded to the late 1970's with a struggling United States broke from fighting failing wars and foolish squandered moneys, and a stronger new USSR with Europe left to pick up the pieces of their own mess. Is this the "Change" we wanted? Maybe President Obama can "Hope" for a better world.
Comet Linear is hoped to dazzle the skies for star gazers and astronomers this year on May 24, 2014. Comet Linear discovered back in 2004, is thought to be an old comet that's been around the block a few times. This time the ancient comet may be fragile enough to break apart, and dust the skies of Earth with a fine meteor shower display.
At the same time this year, Pope Francis is scheduled to pay a visit to Israel over May 24, 2014. This visit is the only known confirmed papal trip for the Pope in 2014 thus far.
Looking back at history, we cannot discount that there is some sort of connection with religions and celestial activity. Which makes one to wonder, why is this particular trip scheduled over May 24, 2014. Was this date just purely confirmed out of convinence, or is there some sort of plan emerging.
We also must take into account that this trip will be after the first of the four 'Blood Moons' to occur.
According to the Jewish calender, several holy days will be falling on the passing of these four blood moons. The first being Passover to occur on April 15, 2014. We will also be having a lunar eclipse this year in October.
What is the signifigance with the passing of Comet Linear on the 24th of May?
Some speculate that Comet Linear is an old ancient comet undisputed though it has graced our Earth much bolder in the past. It is thought possibly Comet Linear could have been a great comet of the past such as the Great Comet of 1556, which caused havoc on Earth, spurring earthquakes and volcanic increased activity. You can easily see how this would be considered a religious experience on Earth that would involve in Churches as not much was known about our solar system and its swirling bodes upon it.
Are these events really just rooted in old superstitions associated with lesser knowledge of our surroundings? Only time will tell, but for sure these are events worthy to pay close attention to as the year wears on.
New about Iran has littered the main stream media recently starting off with Nuclear talks between the US, Israel and Iran. Some are skeptical of Iran's intentions in the area especially Israel which has sparked some debate over the United States decision to release some of the sanctions on Iran.
We have heard that Iran wants to become a part of the world by stopping its iridium enrichment and destroying centerfuges needed to construct a Nuclear weapon. Then on the other hand, we hear increasing threats against Israel and the United States such as testing long ranged missiles, making videos depicting them attacking Israel, Tel Aviv, and US carriers. So which is it? Are the Iranians playing some type a 'game'?

It can be hard to predict and read through Iran's shenanagans, but through it all I believe one message is clear. Iran is trying to play two sides of the coin, in one hand they want to be part of the world community as they see it pays off not only economically, and also in a diplomatic sense. On the other hand, they have the people of Iran who for years have been programmed to hate the west particularly the US and Israel. They are clearly testing the waters to see what they can get away with, especially with President Obama leading from behind stratedgy. What will happen next is really anyone's guess, as Iran has proved one thing, they got a bag full o' suprises that fuels the news media machine.
Typically we tend to think of a full moon as the night when werewolves, vampires and all spooky things that go bump n the night. Taken from an astrological view a full moon mean that the moon is at a complete opposite orbit from our Sun. Higher tides are associated with a full moon. The moon will be in its full state at exactly 6:53pm EST.
Today is also February 14th, Valentines Day. A day of romance, dining, chocolates, flowers and gifts of affection and adornment. The full moon falls on this night, but looking at this event from an astrology stand point this could be a good thing.
This full moon is falling in the house of Leo which is a sign of loyalty, passion, courage and the heart. A full moon in astrology is often described as enlightenment, activities and projects fruiting and is likely an emotional time.

In Greek times the Moon is personified also a woman and is worshiped as a deity adorned with silver. Temples were built to worship the moon all over the world in ancient times. The moon is also symbolized by a silver key to unlock the realm of those who have pasted before us.
So tonight's full moon on Valentine's Day is extra special and should be a night full of clarity, emotions, passion, courage and the heart. To quote the popular song, "When the Moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore".
Christianity began in the East, not the West, yet today Christians in the East are enduring an all-out-assault by Islamic terrorists, while Christians in the West live their lives largely oblivious to it all. This has to change.
This is no imaginary persecution; in Syria alone there have been reports of kidnappings, Christian communities intentionally displaced by militants and, worst of all, shootings and beheadings of Christians who refused to convert to Islam.
In Egypt radicals have recently destroyed dozens of churches, and the once vibrant Christian population in Iraq has been decimated.
Christians in the West should stand up for those in the East out of regard for all they have given us over these thousands of years, if for no other reason.
See, what most American Christians don’t realize is that the “Islamic World” was once the Christian world. Some of the most well-known and influential leaders in the early church hailed from North Africa and the Middle East – like the warring theologians Athanasius and Arius, and the apologist Tertullian. It was for the library in Alexandria that the preeminent Greek version of the Torah (the “Septuagint”) was commissioned.
Today, St. Augustine would be called a Tunisian, Origen would be Egyptian and the Apostle Paul – who was on the road to Damascus when he encountered Christ – would have told the story of his conversion while heading to “Syria.”
It was also in the Syrian city of “Antioch” that Christians were first called “Christians,” and to this day there are as many Christian holy sites in that nation as anywhere else in the world.
When Jesus was born, and his life was threatened by the hysteria of King Herod, it was to Egypt that Joseph and Mary fled until Herod’s bloodlust subsided.
If the famed Council of Nicaea were held today, the headline would read: “Christian theologians gather in Turkey to settle long-held dispute about Christ’s deity,” and the part of the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized could have very well flowed through modern-day Jordan , as opposed to Israel.
Christianity was once so entrenched in the modern Islamic world that for centuries the center for Christian scholarship was Baghdad, and the long-ruined city of Merv (not far from border of what is now Afghanistan) was not only the largest city of its time, it was also best known as the center of Bible translation.
To this day – in nearly all of those places – there are Christian communities that have persevered through the ages, but now face the threat of extinction.
They have endured conflict after conflict, schism after schism, and they have learned how to coexist with peace-loving Muslims who are themselves fighting against the same radicalism that has caused the burning and bombing of hundreds of churches around the Islamic world since the spark of Arab Spring.
The trickling stream of Christianity runs in these places all the way to the era of Christ himself, but now – particularly in Syria – that stream is being dried up more quickly that most people realize.
Sadly, few Christians in the West have any idea this is going on, and I was once just like them.
Then I was invited last September to observe a meeting convened by Jordan’s King Abdullah in his country’s capital, Amman. Several dozen leaders of the Christian congregations of the East attended the meeting; I listened as these Catholic cardinals, Orthodox patriarchs and Anglican and Coptic bishops described the plight of their people.
No one was discussing their theological differences, because it was their churches that had been burned, their relatives who had been kidnapped and killed, and nearly every one of them told stories of consoling an inconsolable mother or child as they grieved the death of their last living loved one.
I wept as I heard their stories, and I wondered why Christians around the world weren’t incensed by it all.
Ironically, that meeting in Jordan was not convened by Christians, but by Muslims who cared about the plight of their Christian neighbors.
At one point, Jordan’s strong and kind king said that “it is a duty rather than a favor” to protect the Christians in the region, and Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, a senior adviser to the king, acknowledged that “Christians were in this region before Muslims.” He said, “They are not strangers, nor colonialists, nor foreigners. They are natives of these lands and Arabs, just as Muslims are.”
While I was deeply encouraged by the tone of these Islamic leaders, I couldn’t help but ask myself, “I wonder how many Christians in the West even care about those in the East?”
In that moment, I decided I would be their advocate.
It was the Apostle Paul who once advised some friends in Greece to “pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people.”
I hear Paul’s prayer again on the lips of those persecuted today, and I call upon Christians everywhere to pray for and be an advocate for those upon whose foundation so much of our faith has been built.
Indeed, it isn’t a favor. It’s our duty.
That at least is the conclusion reached by a frightening chart that has been making the rounds on Wall Street. The chart superimposes the market’s recent performance on top of a plot of its gyrations in 1928 and 1929.
The picture isn’t pretty. And it’s not as easy as you might think to wriggle out from underneath the bearish significance of this chart.
I should know, because I quoted a number of this chart’s skeptics in a column I wrote in early December. (CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (MarketWatch) Yet the market over the last two months has continued to more or less closely follow the 1928-29 pattern outlined in that two-months-ago chart. If this correlation continues, the market faces a particularly rough period later this month and in early March. (See chart, courtesy of Tom McClellan of the McClellan Market Report; he in turn gives credit to Tom DeMark, a noted technical analyst who is the founder and CEO of DeMark Analytics.)
One of the biggest objections I heard two months ago was that the chart is a shameless exercise in after-the-fact retrofitting of the recent data to some past price pattern. But that objection has lost much of its force. The chart was first publicized in late November of last year, and the correlation since then certainly appears to be just as close as it was before.
To be sure, as McClellan acknowledged: “Every pattern analog I have ever studied breaks correlation eventually, and often at the point when I am most counting on it to continue working. So there is no guarantee that the market has to continue following through with every step of the 1929 pattern. But between now and May 2014, there is plenty of reason for caution.”
Tom Demark added in interview that he first drew parallels with the 1928-1929 period well before last November. “Originally, I drew it for entertainment purposes only,” he said—but no longer: “Now it’s evolved into something more serious.”
Another objection I heard two months ago was that there are entirely different scales on the left and right axes of the chart. The scale on the right, corresponding to the Dow’s /quotes/zigman/627449/realtimeDJIA+1.22% movement in 1928 and 1929, extends from below 200 to more than 400—an increase of more than 100%. The left axis, in contrast, represents a percentage increase of less than 50%.
But there’s less to this objection than you might think. You can still have a high correlation coefficient between two data series even when their gyrations are of different magnitudes.
However, what is important, McClellan said, is that the time scales of the two data series need to be the same. And, he stresses, there has been no stretching of the time dimension to make them fit.
One of the market gurus responsible for widely publicizing this chart is hedge-fund manager Doug Kass, of Seabreeze Partners and CNBC fame. In an email earlier this week, Kass wrote of the parallels with 1928-29: “While investment history doesn’t necessarily repeat itself, it does rhyme.” And, based on a number of indicators rather than just this chart drawing the 1928-29 parallel, he believes that “the correction might have just started.”
DeMark is even more outspokenly bearish. If the S&P 500 /quotes/zigman/3870025/realtimeSPX+1.11% decisively breaks the 1762 level, he told me, then a major bear market will have only just begun.
You may still be inclined to dismiss this. But there were many more were laughing last November when this scary chart began circulating. Not as many are laughing now.
Lost for centuries, a rare bronze statue of the Greek god Apollo has mysteriously resurfaced in the Gaza Strip, only to be seized by police and vanish almost immediately from view.
Word of the remarkable find has caught the imagination of the world of archaeology, but the police cannot say when the life-sized bronze might re-emerge or where it might be put on display.
A local fisherman says he scooped the 500kg (1,100lb) god from the seabed last August, and carried it home on a donkey cart, unaware of the significance of his catch.
Others soon guessed at its importance, and the statue briefly appeared on eBay with a $500,000 (£300,000) price tag - well below its true value. Police from the Islamist group Hamas, which rules the isolated Palestinian territory, swiftly seized it and say they are investigating the affair.
Archaeologists have not been able to get their hands on the Apollo – to their great frustration- and instead must pore over a few blurred photographs of the intact deity, who is laid out incongruously on a blanket emblazoned with Smurfs.
From what they can tell, it was cast sometime between the 5th and the 1st century BC, making it at least 2,000 years old.
"It's unique. In some ways I would say it is priceless. It's like people asking what is the [value] of the painting La Gioconda [the Mona Lisa] in the Louvre museum," said Jean-Michel de Tarragon, a historian with the French Biblical and Archaeological School of Jerusalem.
"It's very, very rare to find a statue which is not in marble or in stone, but in metal," he told Reuters television.
The apparently pristine condition of the god suggested it was uncovered on land and not in the sea, he said, speculating that the true location of where it was unearthed was not revealed to avoid arguments over ownership.
"This wasn't found on the seashore or in the sea … it is very clean. No, it was [found] inland and dry," he said, adding that there were no signs of metal disfigurement or barnacles that one normally sees on items plucked from water.
Palestinian fisherman Joudat Ghrab tells a different tale. The 26-year-old father of two said he saw a human-like shape lying in shallow waters some 100 metres offshore, just north of the Egyptian-Gaza border.
At first he thought it was a badly burnt body, but when he dived down to take a closer look he realised it was a statue. He says it took him and his relatives four hours to drag the treasure ashore.
"I felt it was something gifted to me by God," Ghrab told Reuters. "My financial situation is very difficult and I am waiting for my reward."
His mother was less happy when she saw the naked Apollo carried into the house, demanding that his private parts be covered. "My mother said: 'What a disaster you have brought with you' as she looked at the huge statue," said Ghrab.
The discoloured green-brown figure shows the youthful, athletic god standing upright on two, muscular legs; he has one arm outstretched, with the palm of his hand held up.
He has compact, curly hair, and gazes out seriously at the world, one of his eyes apparently inlaid with a blue stone iris, the other just a vacant black slit.
Ghrab says he cut off one of the fingers to take to a metals expert, thinking it might have been made of gold. Unbeknownst to him, one of his brothers severed another finger for his own checks. This was melted down by a jeweller.
Family members belonging to a Hamas militia soon took charge of the statue, and at some stage the Apollo appeared on eBay, with the seller telling the buyer to come and collect the item from Gaza.
That would have been easier said than done, however, as Gaza is virtually sealed off from the outside world, with both Israel and Egypt imposing rigid controls on access to the impoverished enclave and its 1.8 million inhabitants.
Whether any potential buyers stepped forward is not clear, but when Hamas's civilian authorities found out about the artefact, they ordered the police to seize it.
Officials at Gaza's tourism ministry told Reuters the statue would not be shown to the public until a criminal investigation into who tried to sell it was completed.
However, Ahmed al-Bursh, the ministry's director of archaeology, said he had seen it and promised that Ghrab would receive a reward once the issue had been resolved.
"It is a precious treasure, an important archaeological discovery," said Bursh. Once the statue has been released by police, his ministry plans to repair it and put it on show in Gaza.
"International institutions have also contacted us and have offered to help with the repair process," he said, adding that a museum in Geneva and the Louvre in Paris wanted to take it on loan.
Like Ghrab, Bursh said the statue had been found at sea. The historian Tarragon said it was vital to know the true location of its discovery.
Some 5,000 years of history lie beneath the sands of the Gaza Strip, which was ruled at various times by ancient Egyptians, Philistines, Romans, Byzantines and crusaders.
Alexander the Great besieged the city and the Roman emperor Hadrian visited. However, local archaeologists have little experience to carry out any scientific digs and many sites remain buried.
Statues such as the Apollo cast would not have been held in isolation, meaning it may prove the tip of an historical iceberg, according to Tarragon.
"A statue at that time was [put] in a complex, in a temple or a palace. If it was in a temple, you should have all the other artefacts of the cult [at the site]," he said, adding that he hoped Hamas appreciated its potential importance.
"There is a feeling that they could find more and more [items] linked to the statue, more and more artefacts, so this is very sensitive," he said.
Bitcoin prices plummeted late Thursday and early Friday morning after one of the crypto-currency's biggest exchanges halted withdrawals.
The price of Bitcoin fell from a high of $827 this week to $619 last night, shaving off 25 percent of its value before ticking back above $700 on Friday morning.
Mt. Gox, one of the largest and best known online markets for Bitcoins, said it was encountering technical problems when people tried to withdraw bitcoins. "In order for our team to resolve the withdrawal issue it is necessary for a temporarily [sic] pause on all withdrawal requests to obtain a clear technical view of the current processes," read a statement on the Japan-based exchange's website posted Friday.
Naturally, Bitcoin traders freaked out.
Enthusiasts have been trying to find a footing for Bitcoin and avoid wild price fluctuations, which scare away regular investors. This week's plunge probably does little to assuage those fears.
The untraceable currency was dealt another blow this week when Apple decided to remove a popular Bitcoin wallet called Blockchain from its App Store for an unspecified "unresolved issue."
It's been a rough few months for Bitcoin. After hitting a record-high of $1,237.96 in December off of speculative trading in China, the price plunged off news that banks in the world's second largest economy couldn't use Bitcoin because it is "not a currency in the real meaning of the word," according to a notice from the Chinese government.
JERUSALEM: Intense clashes have erupted around Al-Aqsa mosque after numerous Israeli settlers, along with the Israeli forces have stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque compound repeatedly over last two days, and on Thursday even climbed the Dome of the Rock mosque. The Israeli forces fired gas grenades at the worshipers inside the mosque. The imam of the Al-Aqsa mosque, Mohamed Hussian has condemned the attack on, what considered as, Islam’s holiest places. Al-Aqsa mosque is known to Jews as ‘Temple Mount.’
The settlers were led by the Rabbi Yehuda Glick, who is the former head of the Temple Institute. The Muslim worshipers gathered to defend the mosque and threw stones in retaliation of the gas grenades fired by the Israeli army. The Muslims chanted “We sacrifice our blood and souls for you, Aqsa!”
“It is a violation against Al-Aqsa mosque and the Israeli authorities are responsible, because they order their soldiers to raid the mosque violently, they are responsible for all what is happening in Al-Aqsa mosque,” said Hussian, the imam of the Al-Aqsa mosque.
On Friday, Israeli forces forcefully cleared the week long protest carried out by Palestinians at protest camp in the Jordan valley near the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah against Israel’s refusal to pull out of the area in any future peace deal.
Israeli police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld claimed that the Israeli security forces responded to provocative stone throwing at them by the Muslim worshipers inside the mosque. However, General Director of Muslim Endowments and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib has rejected these claims and said that the historical evidences show that Israeli forces have always tried to irk the Muslims and have mercilessly killed thousands of Palestinians.

A patern of stars, repeated in monuments through out the ancient world. Coordinates mapped out in sand and stone, dating back more than 7000 years. These builders and authors of these ancient structures clearly had some type of knowledge of constelations, and recognition of existance of other planets. Are there clues that our ancestors had some type of contact with the divine or other worldy beings passed down from legends and in the form of religions?
Even today, mankind is obsessed with what is beyond our planet. Past legends still being talked about till this day fuel the imaginations of millions people inspiring cinema, daily life and religions.
To write and talk about the stars and hevanly bodies are to talk about the realm of the Gods.
The most popular of these mystic planets or stars are Orion, Kolob, Nibiru, Hercolubus, and Planet X. There are striking similarites between these legends, Lets take a journey exploring these Hevenly bodies and can they be backed by modern science?
Orion is a prominent constellation located on the celestial equator and visible throughout the world. It is one of the most conspicuous and recognizable constellations in the night sky. It was named after Orion, a hunter in Greek mythology.
Its brightest stars are Rigel and Betelgeuse, a blue-white and a red supergiant respectively. Many of the other brighter stars in the constellation are hot, blue supergiant stars. The three stars in the middle of the constellation form an asterism known as Orion's belt. The Orion Nebula is located south of Orion's belt.
The distinctive pattern of Orion has been recognized in numerous cultures around the world, and many myths have been associated with it. It has also been used as a symbol in the modern world.
The Babylonian star catalogues of the Late Bronze Age name Orion "The Heavenly Shepherd" or "True Shepherd of Anu" - Anu being the chief god of the heavenly realms. The Babylonian constellation was sacred to Papshukal and Ninshubur, both minor gods fulfilling the role of 'messenger to the gods'. Papshukal was closely associated with the figure of a walking bird on Babylonian boundary stones, and on the star map the figure of the Rooster was located below and behind the figure of the True Shepherd—both constellations represent the herald of the gods, in his bird and human forms respectively.
The stars of Orion were associated with Osiris, the sun-god of rebirth and afterlife, by the ancient Egyptians.
Orion has also been identified with the Egyptian Pharaoh of the Fifth Dynasty called Unas who, according to the Pyramid Texts, became great by eating the flesh of his mortal enemies and then slaying and devouring the gods themselves. This was based on a belief in contagious magic whereby consuming the flesh of great people would bring inheritance of their power.After devouring the gods and absorbing their spirits and powers, Unas journeys through the day and night sky to become the star Sahu, or Orion. The Pyramid Texts also show that the dead Pharaoh was identified with the god Osiris, whose form in the stars was often said to be the constellation Orion.
The Bible mentions Orion three times, naming it "Kesil" (כסיל, meaning literally -a fool). Though, this name perhaps is etymologically connected with "Kislev", the name for the ninth month of the Hebrew calendar, November–December, which, in turn, may derive from the Hebrew root K-S-L as in the words "kesel, kisla" (כֵּסֶל, כִּסְלָה,meaning hope, positiveness and hope for winter rains.References can be found in Job 9:9 ("He is the maker of the Bear and Orion"), Job 38:31 ("Can you loosen Orion`s belt?"), and Amos 5:8 ("He who made the Pleiades and Orion"). In ancient Aram, the constellation was known as Nephîlā′, the Nephilim may have been Orion's descendants.
In Greek, Egyptian, Native American Indian, Ancient Europe, Africa, and parts of asia Orion is always associated with a Hunter.
Many megalithic structures can be found all over the world aligned with Orion and Orions belt. There are striking similarities through out these ancient cultures that contend that Humanity is from Orion, thats where eigther we will ultamately go, or the Gods will retun to us from this location.
Nibiru is a term in the Akkadian language, translating to "crossing" or "point of transition", especially of rivers, or the crossings of ferry-boats. In Babylonian astronomy, Nibiru is a term of the highest point of the ecliptic, like the point of summer solstice, and its associated constellation.
As the highest point in the paths of the planets, Nibiru was considered the seat of the summus deus who pastures the stars like sheep, in Babylon its identified with Marduk. The establishment of the nibiru point is described in tablet 5 of the creation epic Enûma Elišh; “When Marduk fixed the locations of Nibiru, Enlil and Ea in the sky". The Enuma Elish states:
Nibiru is [Marduk's] star, which he made appear in the heavens... The stars of heaven, let him [Nibiru] set their course; let him shepherd all the gods like sheep.
This interpretation of Marduk as the ruler of the cosmos has been suggested by some authors to imply an early monotheist tendency in Babylonian religion.
Nibiru is described more closely on a complete cuneiform tablet.
Nibiru, which is said to have occupied the passageways of heaven and earth, because everyone above and below asks Nibiru if they cannot find the passage. Nibiru is Marduk's star which the gods in heaven caused to be visible. Nibiru stands as a post at the turning point. The others say of Nibiru the post: "The one who crosses the middle of the sea (Tiamat) without calm, may his name be Nibiru, for he takes up the center of it". The path of the stars of the sky should be kept unchanged.
Zecharia Sitchin, an American author of books proposing an explanation for human origins involving ancient astronauts. Sitchin attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Anunnaki, which he states was a race of extraterrestrials from a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru. He believed this hypothetical planet of Nibiru to be in an elongated, elliptical orbit in the Earth's own Solar System, asserting that Sumerian mythology reflects this view.
Nibiru is also commonly refered to as the 12th planet and the Winged disc as dipitced in ancient Sumarian texts as well as egyptian cuineoform.
Kolob is a star or planet described in the Mormon scripture. Though Kolob is not mentioned in the Book of Mormon, its reference can be found in the Book of Abraham, which was translated by Joseph Smith from an Egyptian papyrus scroll.
Joseph Smith is said to have gained the power of intrepretation by a visiting Angel or Extraterrestrial being named Moroni.Smith claims that Moroni gave him the Urim and Thumim or Seer Stones which were described as two smooth clear stones in which Smith could translate specific texts. Smith also said that Moroni came from Kolob, in which the being pointed in the sky.
The Book of Abraham was dictated in 1836 by Smith after he purchased a set of Egyptian scrolls that accompanied a mummy exhibition. According to Smith, the scrolls described a vision of Abraham, in which Abraham:
"saw the stars, that they were very great, and that one of them was nearest unto the throne of God; ... and the name of the great one is Kolob, because it is near unto me, for I am the Lord thy God: I have set this one to govern all those which belong to the same order as that upon which thou standest."
The Book of Abraham describes a hierarchy of heavenly bodies, including the earth, its moon, and the sun, each with different movements and measurements of time, where at the pinnacle, the slowest-rotating body is Kolob, where one Kolob-day corresponds to 1000 earth-years, with similarities to 2 Peter 3:8 which says "one day is with the Lord as a thousand years". Additional, similar information about Kolob is found in the Kirtland Egyptian Papers, constituting manuscripts in the handwriting of Smith and his scribes.
According to the traditional, literal LDS interpretation of the Book of Abraham, Kolob is an actual star or planet in this universe that is, or is near, the physical throne of God. According to Smith, this star was discovered by Methuselah and Abraham by looking through the Urim and Thummim, a set of seer stones bound into a pair of spectacles.
The Book of Abraham is unclear about Kolob being a star or a planet,
One part of the Book of Abraham states that Abraham "saw the stars ... and that one of them was nearest unto the throne of God; ... and the name of the great one is Kolob.
Thus, Kolob is referred to as a "star". However, the book defines the word Kokaubeam (a transliteration of the Hebrew "כּוֹכָבִים" As refered to in, Genisis 15:5]) as meaning "all the great lights, which were in the firmament of heaven". This would appear to include planets as among the "stars", and apparently, the earth itself as considered to be among these stars.
Hercolubus is a planet first discovered suposidly in the second half of the twentieth century by the medium and possibly Brazilian lawyer Hercilio Maes who lived from (1913-1993).
Herculobus is thought to be in a solar system called Tilo, and that it would be closer to the Earth in the twentieth century prophesied that Herculobus would produce catastrophic event on Earth in apocalyptic end times.
Hercobolus is described as a Red planet about the size of jupiter.
According Rabolú in his book, Hercobulus would have passed through the Earth some 13,000 years ago, destroying the ancient civilization of Atlantis .
Herculobus or Red Planet has aroused curiosity in many followers of the philosophies pertaining to the current New Age , however lacks some scientific basis . Rabolú follower of the doctrine Gnostic touted by the late Samael Aun Weor (Víctor Gómez Rodríguez), argues that the goal of the approaching Red planet, is the assumption that Hercobulus will purify the Earths aura.
Many followers of the doctrines of Gnosticism claim that Colombian Herculobus is known extrasolar planet WASP-5b orbiting the star WASP-5 (in the constellation of the Phoenix ). But the estimated between Earth and this constellation distance is 967 light years , still enormous difference to intended that it is indeed Herculobus.
In recent times, Hercolubus is widely discussed by people on the internet. There has also been asumptions that Hercolobus could actually be a ball of energy headed towards our Sun, and its magnetic field or energy field would also cause casatrophic events here on Earth.
A planet six times more massive than Jupiter has been spotted drifting, cold and alone, eighty light years from Earth. It's a sunless world, and astronomers say it could be the first real example of a free-floating planet to date. But how it got separated from its parent star in the first place remains a mystery.
"We have never before seen an object free-floating in space that looks like this," said lead researcher Michael Liu, of the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawaii at Manao, in a statement.
With no sun to call its own, the planet, which goes by PSO J318.5-22, joins the ranks of a cadre of similarly solitary entities to be discovered in recent years. But while previous free-floating, planet-like bodies, have been notoriously difficult to distinguish from failed stars known as brown dwarfs, the astronomers who discovered PSO J318.5-22 say its identify is unambiguous.
It's true Liu's team first noticed PSO J318.5-22 while searching for traces of failed stars in data amassed by Pan-STARRS1, a wide-field survey telescope situated atop Haleakala volcano, on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Like a brown dwarf, the object, which emits most of its energy at infrared wavelengths, showed up in readings as faint and red. What set PSO J318.5-22 apart was that it was very red – far redder, in fact, than even the reddest brown dwarfs on record.
Followup observations led the researchers to conclude that PSO J318.5-22's infrared signature more closely resembled that of a newly formed planet than a brown dwarf's; while its low mass and relative youth, resemble what astronomers typically expect from gas giants orbiting newly formed stars. "It has all the characteristics of young planets found around other stars, but is drifting out there all alone," said Liu. "I had often wondered if such solitary objects exist, and now we know they do.
According to the researchers, there are at least two good reasons to believe PSO J318.5-22 belongs to a collection of young stars called the Beta Pictoris moving group. One: Like PSO J318.5-22, the Beta Pictoris moving group is thought to have formed around 12-million years ago. Two: Beta Pictoris, the star from which the group takes its name, is known to harbor a young gas-giant planet of its own – one that is roughly eight-times as massive as Jupiter.
A rare find in Jerusalem: archaeologists have uncovered a ritual pool from the Second Temple era near a highway construction site.
The discovery came during excavations carried out in advance of paving the Ora-Masua’ah highway in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Kiryat Menachem.
According to Israel Antiquities Authority excavation director Benyamin Storchan, “Numerous ritual baths have been excavated in Jerusalem in recent years, but the water supply system that we exposed in this excavation is unique and unusual. The pool consists of an underground chamber entered by way of steps. The mikveh received the rainwater from three collecting basins (otzar) that were hewn on the roof of the bath, and the pure water was conveyed onside the chamber through channels.
“The ritual baths known until now usually consiste of a closed cavity that was supplied with rainwater conveyed from a small rock-cut pool located nearby.
“The complex that was exposed at this time is a more sophisticated and intricate system...apparently associated with a settlement that was situated there in the Second Temple period.
“Presumable, due to the rainfall regime and arid conditions of the region, the inhabitants sought special techniques that would make it possible to store every drop of water.”

That didn’t take long. On Monday, the Dow was down another 326 points. Overall, the Dow has now fallen more than 1000 points from the peak of the market (16,588.25) back in late December.
This is the first time that we have seen the Dow drop below its 200-day moving average in more than a year, and there are many that believe that this is just the beginning of a major stock market decline. Meanwhile, things are even worse in other parts of the world. For example, the Nikkei is now down about 1700 points from its 2013 high. This is causing havoc all over Asia, and the sharp movement that we have been seeing in the USD/JPY is creating a tremendous amount of anxiety among Forex traders. For those that are not interested in the technical details, what all of this means is that global financial markets are starting to become extremely unstable.
Unfortunately, there does not appear to be much hope on the horizon for investors. In fact, troubling news just continues to pour in from all over the planet. Just consider the following…
-Major currencies all over South America continue to collapse.
-Massive central bank intervention has done little to slow down the currency collapse in Turkey.
-Investors pulled more than 6 billion dollars out of emerging market equity funds last week alone.
-The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) has risen above 20 for the first time in four months.
-Last month, new manufacturing orders in the United States declined at the fastest pace that we have seen since December 1980.
-Real disposable income in the United States has just experienced the largest year over year drop that we have seen since 1974.
-In January, vehicle sales for Ford were down 7.5 percent and vehicle sales for GM were down 12 percent. Both companies are blaming bad weather.
-A major newspaper in the UK is warning that “growing problems in the Chinese banking system could spill over into a wider financial crisis“.
-U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is warning that the federal government could hit the debt ceiling by the end of this month if Congress does not act.
-It is being reported that Dell Computer plans to lay off more than 15,000 workers.
-The IMF recently said that the the probability that the global economy will fall into a deflation trap “may now be as high as 20%“.
-The Baltic Dry Index is now down 50 percent from its December highs.
If our economic troubles continue to mount, could we be facing a global “financial avalanche” fairly quickly?

#3 Egon von Greyerz of Matterhorn Asset Management: “Nothing goes (down) in a straight line, but the emerging market problems will accelerate and it will spread to the very overbought and the very overvalued stock markets and economies in the West.
So stock markets are now starting a secular bear trend which will last for many years, and we could see falls of massive proportions. At the end of this, the wealth that has been created in the last few decades will be destroyed.”
#4 Peter Schiff: “The crisis is imminent,” Schiff said. ”I don’t think Obama is going to finish his second term without the bottom dropping out. And stock market investors are oblivious to the problems.”
“We’re broke, Schiff added. ”We owe trillions. Look at our budget deficit; look at the debt to GDP ratio, the unfunded liabilities. If we were in the Eurozone, they would kick us out.”

After the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, fans celebrated by “lighting fires, damaging historic buildings and ripping down street signs“.
If that is how average Americans will behave when something good happens, how will they act when the economy totally collapses and nobody can find work for an extended period of time?
We are rapidly approaching another great financial crisis. Unfortunately, we didn’t learn any of the lessons that we should have learned last time. It is being projected that the debt of the federal government will more than double during the Obama years, the “too big to fail banks” have collectively gotten 37 percent larger over the past five years, and the big banks have become more financially reckless than ever before.
When the next great financial crisis arrives (and without a doubt it is inevitable), millions more Americans will lose their jobs and millions more Americans will lose their homes.
Now is not the time to be buying lots of expensive new toys, going on expensive vacations or piling up lots of debt.
Now is the time to build up an emergency fund and to do whatever you can to get prepared for the great storm that is coming.
