Michael ("who is like God?", Hebrew: מִיכָאֵל (pronounced [mixåˈʔel]), Micha'el or Mîkhā'ēl; Greek: Μιχαήλ, Mikhaḗl; Latin: Michael (in the Vulgate Michahel); Arabic: ميخائيل, Mīkhā'īl) is an archangel in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic teachings. Roman Catholics, the Eastern Orthodox, Anglicans, and Lutherans refer to him as "Saint Michael the Archangel" and also as "Saint Michael". Orthodox Christians refer to him as the "Taxiarch Archangel Michael" or simply "Archangel Michael".
Michael is mentioned three times in the Book of Daniel, once as a "great prince who stands up for the children of your people". The idea that Michael was the advocate of the Jews became so prevalent that in spite of the rabbinical prohibition against appealing to angels as intermediaries between God and his people, Michael came to occupy a certain place in the Jewish liturgy.
In the New Testament Michael leads God's armies against Satan's forces in the Book of Revelation, where during the war in heaven he defeats Satan. In the Epistle of Jude Michael is specifically referred to as "the archangel Michael". Christian sanctuaries to Michael appeared in the 4th century, when he was first seen as a healing angel, and then over time as a protector and the leader of the army of God against the forces of evil. By the 6th century, devotions to Archangel Michael were widespread both in the Eastern and Western Churches. Over time, teachings on Michael began to vary among Christian denominations.
In the Hebrew Scriptures, and the Old Testament, the prophet Daniel experiences a vision after having undergone a period of fasting. In the vision in Daniel 10:13-21 an angel identifies Michael as the protector of Israel. Daniel refers to Michael as a "prince of the first rank". Later in the vision in Daniel 12:1 Daniel is informed about the role of Michael during the "Time of the End" when there will be "distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations" and that:
"At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise."
In view of this, Michael is seen as playing an important role as the protector of Israel, and later of the Christian Church.
Although the three occurrences of Michael in the Book of Daniel 10:13, 10:21 and 12:1 all refer to the same individual, who acts in similar ways in all three cases, the last one is set at the "end times", while the first two refer to local time in Persia. These are the only three references to Michael in the Hebrew Bible.
The references to the "captain of the host of the Lord" encountered by Joshua in the early days of his campaigns in the Promised Land (Joshua 5:13-15) have at times been interpreted as Michael the Archangel, but there is no theological basis for that assumption, given that Joshua then worshiped this figure, and angels are not to be worshiped. Some scholars also point that the figure may refer to God himself. In the book of Joshua's account of the fall of Jericho, Joshua "looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand". When the still unaware Joshua asks which side of the fight the Archangel is on, the response was, "neither...but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come".
"...there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven."
After the conflict, Satan is thrown to earth along with the fallen angels, where he ("that ancient serpent called the devil") still tries to "lead the whole world astray".
Separately, in the Epistle of Jude1:9 Michael is specifically referred to as an "archangel" when he again confronts Satan:
"Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses"
"... the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first" (American Standard Version of 1901, a version that uses the definite article, "the archangel", absent in the original Greek and in English translations (such as the English Standard Version of 2001, which has: "the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God").
This archangel who heralds the second coming of Christ is not named,but is probably Michael.
According to rabbinic Jewish tradition, Michael acted as the advocate of Israel, and sometimes had to fight with the princes of the other nations (cf. Daniel 10:13) and particularly with the angel Samael, Israel's accuser. Michael's enmity with Samael dates from the time when the latter was thrown down from heaven. Samael took hold of the wings of Michael, whom he wished to bring down with him in his fall; but Michael was saved by God.[17][18] Michael is also said to have had a dispute with Samael over the soul of Moses.[19]

There were two prayers written beseeching him as the prince of mercy to intercede in favor of Israel: one composed by Eliezer ha-Kalir, and the other by Judah ben Samuel he-Hasid. But appeal to Michael seems to have been more common in ancient times. ThusJeremiah is said to have addressed a prayer to him. "When a man is in need he must pray directly to God, and neither to Michael nor to Gabriel."
The rabbis declare that Michael entered upon his role of defender at the time of the biblical patriarchs. Thus, according to Rabbi Eliezer ben Jacob, it was Michael who rescued Abraham from the furnace into which he had been thrown by Nimrod (Midrash Genesis Rabbah xliv. 16). It was Michael, the "one that had escaped" (Genesis 14:13), who told Abraham that Lot had been taken captive (Midrash Pirke R. El.), and who protected Sarah from being defiled by Abimelech. He announced to Sarah that she would bear a son and he rescued Lot at the destruction of Sodom.
In Matt. 24 where Jesus talked about the "holy place", He was NOT referring to a third temple. In fact, Luke 21 renders this same passage as, "standing in the place where he ought not"...
Do you have any idea where the teaching of a 7 yr. tribulation comes from? Do you recall an early church patriarch by the name of Martin Luther? It was Martin Luther that "pointed the finger" at the pope as sitting in the seat of Antichrist. Because of this fact as well as his 95 Thesis, people began to leave the Catholic church in droves! As you can well imagine, the Roman church was furious with him! They were desperate to figure out away to undo the damage that Luther had inflicted on their organization (church). So they began calling for their brightest biblical scholars. They needed away to be able to remove the stigma that the Antichrist would be the final pope. Francisco Ribera and Robert Bellarmine were brilliant Jesuit priests that fabricated the doctrine of futurism. They cunningly took "Daniel's 70 weeks" (490 yr) timed prophecy and stopped it short after only 69 weeks (483 yrs.) and then inserting a gap, now of almost 2000 yrs. They then taught that this prophecy will pick back up and the last week (7 yrs.) will commence after Christ returns secretly to get His church. By this teaching, Rome has been quite successful in removing the idea that the final pope will be the Antichrist. The reasoning being,"since the pope is a good Christian, he will be taken in the rapture, so he couldn't be the Antichrist that will be revealed in the middle of the 7 yr. tribulation." Right? ? ?
In God's Word, we are warned that in these "last days" that there will be many false prophets and teachers. Some of these false teachings are: a pre-trib. rapture; the great tribulation will last 7 yrs.; the building of a third Jewish temple; and then in the middle of this 7 yr. tribulation, the Antichrist will enter into this newly built temple and claim to be God. Most of these beliefs are formed from a misinterpretation Dan. 9:24-27 or the "seventy weeks of Daniel". These seventy weeks (490 yrs.) of Daniel's prophecy have already been marvelously and COMPLETELY fulfilled and that even means the last "week" or 7 yr. period. God was very careful to establish the starting date of 457 BC with the phase, "from the command to restore and build Jerusalem" (which is found in Ezra 7:21-27). This prophecy was meant to help "God's covenant people" to recognize the Messiah when He arrived the first time. So, how do we know that this last 7 yr. time period is referring to Jesus Christ and not the Antichrist that is still yet to come? By doing the math... If we add 490 yrs. to 457 BC, that gives us the ending date of 34 AD. (Please keep in mind that there is no year "0" ). If we subtract 7 yrs. that will bring us to 27 AD; the end of the 69th week; the "anointing of the Most Holy" and the start of the 70th week. We know that in 27 AD that Jesus was 30 yrs. old because we also know that Jesus was born in 4 BC (king Herod the Great would also die later in the Fall of this same year). It was when Jesus was 30 that He was baptized by John and was "anointed" by the Holy Spirit and God the Father spoke saying, "Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I'm well pleased"; Luke 3:21-23.
It was at this point that Jesus Christ began to "confirm the covenant with many for one week"; Dan.9:27. The word "many" in this verse is referring only to the Jewish people. For Jesus said, "I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel"; Matt.15:24. The prophecy continues, "and in the midst of week (31 AD) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease". Please keep in mind that the noun "he" was defined in verse 26 as the "Messiah" that would be "cut off" or receive a sinner's death, but "not for Himself". So how did Jesus' death cause the "sacrifice and the oblation to cease"? We find the answer in Matt. 27:50-51, "Jesus, when He had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the (Holy) Ghost", Vs. 51 "And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to bottom; and the earth did quake...". The temple veil was used in the sacrificial service in the transference of the sins of the people to the temple by the priest "sprinkling" the blood of the sacrificed animal on to it... Jesus Christ's death also fulfilled: "to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness".
For John said at Jesus' baptism, "Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world"; John 1:29 And this is also what Jesus meant in John 19:30, when He said,"It is finished: and he bowed His head, and gave up the (Holy) Ghost". But what about the remaining 3 1/2 yrs. of that last 7 yr. period that Christ "confirmed the covenant"? In 34 AD, our resurrected Savior, Jesus Christ, appeared unto Saul, changed his name to Paul and called him to be the "apostle to the Gentiles". This was a profound change for Christ, for when He walked the earth, Jesus never preached to the Gentile nations. For He said, "I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel"; Matt.15:24. So what happened to bring about this momentous change? The prophecy of the 70 weeks of Daniel starts by saying,"seventy weeks are determined upon thy people", Israel was given a 490 yr. probation. It was at this point that the Jewish nation's commission to teach the world about God and His statutes was taken and it was then given unto the Gentiles.
By Christ calling Paul to now go to the Gentiles, is ABSOLUTE PROOF that the prophecy of the 70 weeks of Daniel was COMPLETELY FULFILLED !!! So what does this mean for us today? The Word of God does NOT teach a 7 yr. tribulation nor that there will be a third temple. In Dan. 9:27, where it says, "and for the overspreading of abominations he (the Messiah; the Creator who used Rome) shall make [it desolate] (king Herod's second temple was destroyed in 70 AD by the Roman general, Titus) , "EVEN UNTIL THE CONSUMMATION" (Christ's Second Coming) that means NO THIRD TEMPLE! Now, you may be asking yourself, "aren't the Jews constructing the implements that will be used in that future temple?" I have already seen this same sort of test to the authority of God's Word when Saddam Hussein said that he was going to be the next king Nebuchadnezzar and rebuild the city of Babylon. Even though he had already started excavating and had actually started reconstruction on several buildings, I was aware of what God had said concerning this... In Isaiah 13:19-20, it states that God was going to use the Medes to destroy Babylon and that Babylon would never be inhabited again! And we all know how that turned out...

Lockheed Martin previously demonstrated the system’s capabilities in countering representative airborne targets in flight, including small-caliber rocket targets and an unmanned aerial system target. The system can precisely track moving targets at a range of more than 5 kilometers (3.1 miles), and its 10-kilowatt fiber laser can engage targets up to 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) away.
The 2nd century AD author Lucian wrote that during the Siege of Syracuse (c. 214–212 BC), Archimedes destroyed enemy ships with fire. We have seen many researchers trying to recreate the Archimedes heat ray using mirrors to reflect the sunlight to a point to catch something on fire. In all attempts it has failed. but what if, archimedes ray was actually a sophicated device, technology since lost over time.

For thousands of years, mankind has looked to the Moon, the sun, and the star phases and events, playing a part in every culture in the world dating back to the begining of mankind. Treated as omens, harbingers, and marking periods of points in time. There must have been something more to these celestial events, something more important, something prophetic. Civilizations around the world for thousands of years have built shrines and monoliths to mark these celestial happenings.
This begs the bigger question of why? Why has mankind been so obsessed with celestial activity?
The answers are giving to us through the word of the bible, in Genesis 1:14 is states," And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years."
These celestial events are for us to mark occasions, and measure time. in the bible the word Seasons is translated to the meaning of feast as referenced in livitcus 23. in leviticus 23:2 it says Speak unto the children of israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of the lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. What is being refered to here is Divine appointments. Points of time that are made important to us by God. Events of occasions set for us by the lord and he shall give us signs to these feasts. When we think to divine appointments we might think of Christmas to mark the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ. While this is true to the literal translation, for accuracy we need to think back to when these divine occasions where set. For this we need to refer to the holy calendar, the hebrew calender.
Now most of the world is on the gregorian calendar that was set by Ceasar and then revised by Pope Gregory. So most do not know of the cycles and dates of occasions of certain events. So lets take a look at the H
ebrew calendar to orient ourselves.
The Hebrew or Jewish calendar ( ha'luach ha'ivri) is a lunisolar calendar used today predominantly for Jewish religious observances. It determines the dates for Jewish holidays and the appropriate public reading of Torah portions, and daily Psalm readings, among many ceremonial uses. In Israel, it is used for religious purposes, provides a time frame for agriculture and is an official calendar for civil purposes, although the latter usage has been steadily declining in favor of the Gregorian calendar.
The era used since the middle ages is the Anno Mundi epoch (Latin for "in the year of the world"; Hebrew meaning "from the creation of the world"). As with Anno Domini (A.D. or AD), the words or abbreviation for Anno Mundi (A.M. or AM) for the era should properly precede the date rather than follow it, although this is no longer always followed. AM 5773 began at sunset on 16 September 2012 and ended on 4 September 2013. AM 5774 began at sunset on 4 September 2013 and will end on 24 September 2014. AM 5775 will begin at sunset on 24 September 2014 and end on 13 September 2015.
The Jewish day is of no fixed length. The Jewish day is modeled on the reference to "...there was evening and there was morning..." in the Creation account in the first chapter of Genesis. Based on the classic Rabbinic interpretation of this text, a day in the Rabbinic Hebrew calendar runs from sunset (start of "the evening") to the next sunset.
There is a weekly cycle of seven days, mirroring the seven-day period of the Book of Genesis in which the world is created. The names for the days of the week, like those in the Creation account, are simply the day number within the week, with Shabbat being the seventh day. Each day of the week runs from sunset to the following sunset and is figured locally.
The Hebrew calendar is a lunisolar calendar, meaning that months are based on lunar months, but years are based on solar years. The calendar year features twelve lunar months of twenty-nine or thirty days, with an intercalary lunar month added periodically to synchronize the twelve lunar cycles with the longer solar year.

These are just a few examples of how the lunar phases sync up with the hebrew calender and holy dates. The hebrew calender is also align with solar eclipses.
Now you are probably wondering, "Well if the holy holidays or feast days are always falling on lunar and solar event, so what? The Hewbrew calender is based on their cycles so sure of course they line up?"
What needs to be recognized here is the rareity of a signifigant lunar and solar event. For example a first quarter moon is a lunar point phase, but is not that significant as it occours every month on the gregorian calender. It a common event. But the occourence of a total full moon eclipse in which the moon turns red in the night sky, now that is something to notice!
18Imagine thousands of years ago,the sight of the moon turning red in the dark night sky could seem terrifying and cause panic. Now in the 21st century we know that its simply a total lunar eclipse, a mathmaticly occouring event,since we understand that this is just simply a moon phase, although rare, but through its simplicity of a natural occourence emerges the signifigane of its appearence on a paticular holy holiday.
In Isaiah 46:10 it states: " Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure"
This is stating that indeed God has set these events with a purpose in advance from the begining. Hince they are marked for us to take notice with celestial events that all can see.
Now, it is imporntant understand that on a major holy holiday with a signifigant celestial event occouring, does not not mean that on that given day at that exact time, something extrordinary will happen. These combonations of occourences are set by God to serve as signs, a warning. A omen of something to pass soon. For this we do not know the day or the hour, but we know when to pay close attention, because something extrordinary is forcasted. Its like a weather meteorologist, they warn us in advance of when a strong storm is comming, so we have time to prepare and make adjustments to our lives. They do not wait till the storm is directly in full swing over the intended audience and then announce it. That wouldnt serve much purpose. It is only when you recieve a warning in advance is it meaningful because then you will have time to prepare.

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. Only months after King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain ordered all Jewish people to leave the country (after about 200 AD, Spain became and remained a second Jewish homeland for well over a millennia. So deeply woven into the fabric of Spain are the Jews that neither history can be fully studied without considering the influence of the other).
“In the same month in which their Majesties (Ferdinand and Isabella)] issued the edictment that all Jews should be driven out of the kingdom and its territories, in the same month they gave me the order to undertake with sufficient men my expedition of discovery to the Indies.” So begins Christopher Columbus’s diary.
The expulsion that Columbus refers to was so cataclysmic an event that ever since; the date 1492 has been almost as important in Jewish history as in American history. On July 30 of that year, the entire Jewish community, some 200,000 people, were expelled from Spain. Tens of thousands of refugees died while trying to reach safety. In some instances, Spanish ship captains charged Jewish passengers exorbitant sums, then dumped them overboard in the middle of the ocean. In the last days before the expulsion, rumours spread throughout Spain that the fleeing refugees had swallowed gold and diamonds, and many Jews were knifed to death by brigands hoping to find treasures in their stomachs.
This took place during the warning from a blood moon tetrad on the Jewish Passover and the Feast of Trumpets Holidays in 1493 – 1494.
During the 1st Arab - Israeli War for Independence just after Israel had become a nation again for the first time in 2,000 years. It should be noted here: that even though Israel declared themselves a nation in 1948, the first permanent government took office on January 25th, 1949. Israel had a transitional government in 1948. In this way the “(Tetrad) four blood moons” are tied to the year 1949 for the first elected office of that year and the birth year could still be 1948.
On 14th May, 1948 - Israel proclaimed its independence. Less than 24 hours later, the regular armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq invaded the country, forcing Israel to defend the sovereignty it had regained in its ancestral homeland. In what became known as Israel's War of Independence, the newly formed, poorly equipped Israel Defence Forces (IDF) repulsed the invaders in fierce intermittent fighting, which lasted some 15 months and claimed over 6,000 Israeli lives (nearly one percent of the country's Jewish population at the time).
During the first months of 1949, direct negotiations were conducted under United Nations members between Israel and each of the invading countries (except Iraq, which refused to negotiate with Israel), resulting in arms agreements which reflected the situation at the end of the fighting.
Accordingly, the Coastal Plain, Galilee and the entire Negev were within Israel's sovereignty, Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) came under Jordanian rule, the Gaza Strip came under Egyptian administration, and the city of Jerusalem was divided, with Jordan controlling the eastern part, including the Old City, and Israel the western sector.
The war over, Israel focused on building the state which the people had struggled so long and so hard to regain. The first 120-seat Knesset (parliament) went into session following national elections (25 January 1949) in which nearly 85 percent of all eligible voters cast their ballots.
Two of the people who had led Israel to statehood became the country's leaders: David Ben-Gurion, head of the Jewish Agency, was chosen as the first Prime Minister; and Chaim Weizmann, head of the World Zionist Organization, was elected by the Knesset as the first president. On 11 May 1949, Israel took its seat as the 59th member of the United Nations.

VATICAN CITY – Pope Francis will become the first pontiff seen globally in 3D during the upcoming April 27 ceremony in St. Peter’s Square when two of his predecessors, John Paul II and John XXIII, will be canonised as saints.
The unprecedented double canonisation event will be produced in 3D by the Vatican TV Center (CTV) in a partnership with Rupert Murdoch’s Sky Italia, BSkyB and Sky Deutschland payboxes, and Sony. The ceremony will also be beamed into 3D movie theatres across Europe and in North and South America, in what is being touted as the first convergence of HD, 3D and 4K technologies for such a high-profile multimedia 3D event.
At a press conference in the Vatican, CTV chief Monignor Dario Vigano said the live transmission will require “more satellites than the Sochi Olympics.”
Vigano underlined that the Vatican decided to offer the canonisation ceremony to the world in 3D in order to give people who would want to attend but cannot, for many reasons including economic ones, the chance to get a “fully immersive” experience.
The production will use 13 3D cameras positioned in spots that will give a unique and exclusive vantage point of St Peter’s Square.
The HD feed will be carried by 100 broadcasters, including Italo pubcaster RAI, and viewed by an estimated 200,000 global TV audience.
The 3D TV feed will be beamed into Italy, the UK, and Germany on Sky.
The fact that CTV has teamed up with Sky on the 3D TV project, rather than RAI, which has until now been the Vatican’s customary TV partner in Italy, marks a major coup for Sky Italia.
Sky Italia managing director Andrea Zappia said he was “very proud” of the partnership with the Vatican which will also mark the first time Sky Italia, BSkyB, and Sky Deutschland team up on a live event.
More than 100 movie theatres in Italy will screen the ceremony in 3D through Nexo Digital, which will also beam it into movie theatres around the world, everywhere for free.
Roughly five million pilgrims are expected in Rome for the event, which will see four popes united in St Peter’s, given that the Vatican has confirmed that former Pope Benedict XVI will attend. Benedict, who stepped down from the papacy in February 2013, has been living a secluded existence inside the Vatican walls.
As Pope Francis is beloved by most of the world he is highly reguarded as being a 'New Age' Pontiff as he has his own twitter account and takes to crowds with ease. Now we are seeing just the newest tech being used by the Pope to extend their message to the world as never seen before. This Pope is reaching out to a whole new generation like never seen before, no one argue that Pope Francis is the most popular and interesting of the pontiffs to grace us in the last 50 years. In the Bible the story of Noah is a popular text depicting God's wrath of destroying mankind as he has become corrupt with sin. Today this story beheld by millions of Christians and Jews around the world is once again center stage in the movie Noah another Hollywood blockbuster movie for 2014.
Hollywood's version though is quite different than the Biblical text that we know, instead it has been 'modified' to not upset the non-Christians and actually hold a quite different meaning.
God is replaced with the word 'Creator', in the book of Noah God is mentioned 20 times, Lord mentioned 9 times.
In the Bible version, great sin man created was adultry, blasphemy, murder, deciet, destructive gossip, betrayal.
Movie version the great sin of man is described as degrading the environment, making huge cities, killing animals for food, minning, and development of technology.
Hollywood has actually replaced God with 'Gaia' or Earth, this is not just them simply replacing God with Creator to appease the non-Christians and Jews there is a direct meaning of what they mean.
SPOILER ALERT: Noah is faced with a challenge to kill his family as man is the biggest threat to this earth and he is left standing over two new born babies deciding to kill them. This is not God's true intention, for he loves us so much he gave us his only Son Jesus Christ. God does not ask us to kill our families or other people, actually that is indeed one of the sins of man that God was punishing humanity for in the true story of Noah.
This Hollywood version of Noah is actually closer to the story of Abraham.
Its a movie, and creative licence is permitted, its just a film, but when you take the point of a holy religious sacred text, a Biblical story held passionate and dear to millions of Christians and Jews throughout the world, and change the meaning, its blasphemy.
The equilivlent of saying Martin Luther King Jr. was advocating genocide of everyone who wasen't black, and then commits suicide.
The only thing that this mockery of the story of Noah does tell us is that over 2000 years later, we are still talking about these Biblical events and it must hold great weight as still there are those who try to destroy it.
A CME launched from sunspot AR2014 on March 23rd is expected to deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on March 25th. NOAA forecasters estimate a 30%-40% chance of polar geomagnetic storms on March 25-26.
On March 23rd around 0330 UT, the magnetic canopy of sunspot AR2014 became unstable and erupted, producing a long-duration C-class solar flare. Although C-class flares are considered to be minor, this one lasted so long (several hours) that it unleashed the energy-equivalent of a much stronger flare.
Depending on where the impact of the CME blast will reach on Earth, it is common for that area to experience temporary radio black- outs and possible satellite disruptions. There is also some evidence that earthquakes can be triggered by the geomagnetic storms caused by the CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) wave when it hits the Earth's crust.
